Bali, still the world’s best destination island
Apr 20th 2006
Bali is again to become the talk of the tourists and they start coming back again. In fact, Bali again received an Award from the Conde Naast Traveler Magazine to be the best island destination last year. There have been the ups and the down period of the tourism to Bali owing to several internal as well as external tragedies happing in the world.
Bali is still very attractive because of 3 things:
Bali has unique culture, different faces of the Nature such as cool high mountain areas and hot beach and surfing areas, rice-terraces that can not be found anywhere in the world and the people are very adaptive to incoming visitors.
Bali can be reached easily every day via Singapore with Singapore airlines, via Jakarta with Garuda Indonesia, via Kuala Lumpur with Malaysian Airlines, via Bangkok with Thai International Airlines, via Hong Kong with Cathay Pacific, via all cities of Australia with Australian Airlines, via several cities in Japan with Garuda Indonesia. Most of these airlines are having connection with any long haul destinations from Europe as well as from the USA.
Many nationalities from around the world are given special arrangement to obtain Visa on Arrival with minimal charges, so that the tourists don’t need one or two weeks time to arrange their visa to enter the Republic in their own countries. For many people who don’t have much time to prepare their trip holidays to Bali this arrangement have become very handy. But please everyone should make a call to the Indonesian Embassy or to their trustful travel agent to ask whether yes or not their nationalities are on the list to be given this visa on arrival priority.
On the normal situation where everyone can enjoy good business in Bali we need around 6500 arrivals every day. For some months after the attacks in Jimbaran and Kuta Square the arrival could not exceed the 3000 numbers a day, but the competent report say just starting long week end around Easter holidays up today, the arrival already exceed the 3500 arrivals. The Government official said “we can smile again”
The Bali Tourism Authority together with The Bali Tourism Board and other members have been trying hard to visit our friends in Australia and Japan and to explain to them that security precautions have been much better in Bali. CCTV is in places on many areas, all vehicles to the large hotels and important malls and public areas are thoroughly checked.
The beach that is always beautiful is again visited in large numbers, rent car companies are busy again to rent their cars and the hotels have better occupancy every day. Everyone hopes that the situation will keep getting better and people of the world can again enjoy their holidays to the best destination island without any interruption.
