Viva Macau starts Macau Jakarta regular flights

CEO of Viva Macau, Andrew Pyne, announced that the airline is due to launch its Macau-Jakarta flights on 22 December. Flying three times weekly at first, but next year to increase to seven times, Viva Macau flies B 767 aircrafts with 245 seat capacity. Viva Macau plans to carry 60,000 passengers yearly between Macau and Jakarta, or an average 70% load factor.

The airline is optimistic of positive growth since it will be the only airline serving the route. Between January-October this year visitors to Macau increased by 41.8%, granted from a small base. In 2010, the number of hotel rooms in Macau will exceed Singapore’s.

After Jakarta, Viva Macau plans to fly to Male in the Maldives, Davao and Clark in the Philippines, and to a number of cities in Australia.

Air Macau plans to promote Indonesian destinations in Macau and to the more than 60 million populations in the Pearl River Delta and in Hongkong.
